We’re here to help your family arrange care at home.
When a veteran in your family needs help at home, it’s good to know there is support available. Your loved one may want to stay at home even when cooking, bathing, or getting dressed becomes difficult. You might already be helping but need someone to share the work. Our veterans care services can help with these daily tasks, based on the care they need.
At St. Matthew’s Direct Care Services, we support veterans and their families in Bossier City, Louisiana. Our family-owned company has provided in-home services since 2008. We’ll listen to your concerns and talk with the person receiving care about their needs and preferences.
Veterans care can include:
- Personal care: Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Meals: Help preparing food and eating.
- Mobility: Support with walking and transfers around the home.
- Household chores: Basic cleaning to help keep up with daily upkeep.
- Companionship: Conversation and company for veterans who spend time alone.
Before care begins, we meet at our office or in the client’s home. Together, we discuss what a typical day involves and where assistance is needed. That conversation helps us develop a plan of care that reflects the individual’s daily needs and wants.
Our Direct Service Workers complete training and pass background checks before placement. We also check each worker against the Direct Service Registry, and staff must maintain required continuing education.
We accept private payment and several Medicaid waivers. For families without a waiver in place, we can discuss application steps and which waiver may fit the client’s needs.
